~Ramen Noodle Salad~

This is an amazing salad that is made with Ramen Noodles!

Everybody I have ever met knows what Ramen Noodles are, so I think this is a simple recipe that everyone will love. I bet there are a lot of salads that have Ramen Noodles in them- but this one is truly unique. We have made this at every single family get together as far back as I can remember and everybody (even the kids!) loves it!

~1 Head Lettuce Chopped, Washed & Dried (You can also use 3 Hearts of Romaine or a Bagged Salad Mix. It also tastes good with raw Spinach in it and some other mixed greens.)
~1/4 Cup of Vegetable or Canola Oil (You can NOT use Olive Oil in this recipe.)
~A Bunch of Green Onions (Or Scallions.)
 ~ 1 Tablespoon + 1 Teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
 ~1/4 Teaspoon Salt
 ~1/8 Teaspoon Pepper
~1 Package (Chicken Flavor) Ramen Noodles
~The Seasoning Packet from the Ramen Noodles
~1/4-1/2 Cup Toasted Almond Slivers (You can fry in pan to toast in a drizzle of Olive Oil on low-medium heat)

Use a small container with a lid and put in the oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and flavor packet. Shake well to mix- set aside.
Place the Lettuce(s) into a bowl, and toss with the green onions. Add Toasted Almond Slivers to Salad. Crunch up the Ramen Noodles and add to lettuce and green onions. Pour the Liquid Mixture over the salad right before serving and toss to mix. (You don't want it to get soggy.)

I hope you all enjoy this salad as much as my family and I always have!

Great Grandma's Strawberry Cake!

I have this Strawberry Cake recipe that I just ADORE. It was my Great Grandma's. She really knew her cakes!

I will post the recipe down below. (I will try to modify them to the best of my ability!) And if I can find some pictures of some cakes I've made with this recipe, I will post them below too.

This cake is absolutely delicious! Everybody who has it LOVES it- My Uncle and a few other people told me at my Sweet Sixteen Birthday Party "It was the best cake I've ever had!" and "It was better than wedding cake!" That really made my day. It is super moist- but isn't very crumby and holds together well. It tastes delicious with butter cream frosting or my Great Grandma's strawberry frosting recipe which I will post below too. This cake has ruined all other Strawberry cakes for me forever!

About This Blog: What To Expect

I enjoy cooking and baking, and making new inventions in the kitchen so I decided "Why not share it with the world?" Here you can explore through my ideas and recipes with pictures, instructions, and lots of creativity on anything and everything from making toast to baking wedding cakes. I hope we can learn from each other, and maybe pick up a few new tricks to try in our kitchens! (And maybe even a few other places too!)
